University Malaya Visa Unit

University Malaya Visa Unit, the Ministry of Home Affairs has started the Expatriate Services Division (ESD) in 2014 under the Immigration Department of Malaysia to provide services for government institutions to submit expatriate related immigration matters

VISA UNIT

The Visa Unit,
International Student Centre (ISC)
is a service center for applying Employment Pass,
Student Pass, Professional Visit Pass and other related immigration passes for the university.
Operational in 2008 and conveniently located in Perdanasiswa Complex, University of Malaya provides
getting the passes services for both expatriates and students. As part of the core processes
in getting the
valid visa
, provides consultation
and advisory services related to
visa
issues and matters.
HOW VISA UNIT WORK
Visa Unit will process all Student Pass complete applications then submitted
to the Malaysian Immigration
Department though
Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS).
For postgr
aduate Dependent visa
application will be process after the principle (student) passport has been applied with the student pass
sticker.
COUNTER OPERATING HOURS
Monday
until
Thursday
from 9.00am to 4.00pm
Friday
from 9.00am to 12.15pm only
Token number
will be given for an applicant who wants to submit their application. The
token
number
shall be given from 8.45am until it hit the total number to 120 each day. For
those who
wish
to collect
their passport, I
card or asking for advises, checking the documents you may come directly to counter 3.

is near to Chancellery building where the Human Resource Division and Bursary Department situated. It
is also conveniently near to the CIMB bank, Etiqa Insurance, cafeteria outlets.

Expatriate Service Division [ESD], Immigration Guidelines

The Ministry of Home Affairs has started the Expatriate Services Division (ESD) in 2014 under the Immigration Department of Malaysia to provide services for government institutions to submit expatriate related immigration matters. All applications of expatriate will be conduct and process by the various units and department who will then compile the documents before sending it to Visa Unit, International Student Center (ISC). Visa Unit will process and submit the final application to ESD for obtaining the approval for work permits of expatriates.
Among the services offered by Visa Unit, ISC are Employment Pass, Professional Visit Pass and Dependent Pass. All expatriate Employment Pass applications will be assessed on an individual basis by ESD, based on the merits of each application submitted. Visa Unit is required to submit a supporting letter for each Employment Pass (Category I, II and III) and Professional Visit Pass application.
