Universiti Malaya Faculty, Universiti Malaya Faculty, the Universiti of Malaya is the oldest University  in Malaysia and it has different faculties that offer different programmes. Every faculty  has it own programmes that it offers. Below are the faculties in the Universiti of Malaya .

FACULTY OF BUILT ENVIRONMENT

Faculty-of-Built-Environment
The Faculty of Built Environment (FBE) offers five undergraduate professional programmes tailored to meet the nation’s construction and real estate sectors’ manpower needs. All these programmes are accredited at the national and international levels. For example, its Bachelor of Science in Architecture has been accredited as Part I by the Board of Architects Malaysia (LAM) while its 2-year Bachelor of Architecture program leads to Part II recognition by the Board. The same programmes have also been accredited by the Royal Institute of British Architecture (RIBA, UK), leading to Part I and Part II, accreditation respectively. RIBA’s recognition is considered an achievement as it is the only programme in Malaysia recognised by RIBA and one of the three universities in East Asia.

FACULTY OF LAW

Faculty-of-Law-
The Faculty of Law, University of Malaya is the first law faculty in Malaysia. The Faculty is located in the capital city of Kuala Lumpur and has been engaged in legal education and research since 1972. Graduates of the Faculty of Law are primarily employed in the legal profession and judicial and legal service as well as in various professions from government administration to commerce, banking, finance, politics and non-governmental organisations.

FACULTY OF LANGUAGES AND LINGUISTICS

The Faculty of Languages and Linguistics, University Malaya, was initially set up as a language Centre on 9 March 1972 and was responsible for conducting language courses relevant to the needs of the Faculties, Academies and other Centres of the university. Among the languages offered are Malay, English, Arabic, Burmese, Dutch, French, Iban, Italian, Japanese, Korea, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Tamil, Thai and Vietnamese.

FACULTY OF SCIENCE

Faculty-of-Science
The Faculty of Science is among the oldest and most accomplished faculties in the University. Established in 1959 with 4 departments, Department of Botanical, Department of Chemistry, Department of Mathematics and Department of Zoology; currently the Faculty of Science is the biggest faculty in University of Malaya with nearly 3000 undergraduate students, 900 postgraduate students, 220 academic staffs and 250 support staffs.
In addition to functioning as a teaching centre, the Faculty of Science, staffed with locally and internationally feted researchers, serves as the main research centre for Science & Technology in the region. The faculty also manages its very own online scientific journal, the “Malaysian Journal of Science”.

FACULTY OF ENGINEERING

Faculty-of-Engineering
The Faculty of Engineering has adopted the National Tertiary Education Strategic Plan to improve quality, competitiveness and creativity of each course offered. At present, the Faculty has six departments that offers various engineering programmes for undergraduate and postgraduate which are accreditated by professional bodies.
The faculty engages people with high level of skills to drive the Faculty towards excellence and become renowned in research, innovation, publication and teaching.

FACULTY OF EDUCATION

The Faculty of Education to produce thousands of educators and intellectuals in this nation since the establishment of the Faculty in 1965. As an educational institute, this Faculty is always committed and strives with dedication to be acknowledged as a center of excellence at the national as well as international level. Strengthened and guided by its mission and stated vision, this faculty is always working toward shaping the educational leaders of tomorrow, leaders who are equipped with characteristics of ethical behavior, intellectual soundness, and skills in undertaking research.

FACULTY OF ARTS AND SOCIAL SCIENCES

Faculty-of-Arts-and-Social-Sciences-
The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences was established in 1959. Since then it has been growing, with dynamic expansion taking place in its academic programmes, human resources and physical structure. The Faculty provides a conducive environment for undergraduate and postgraduate studies, and for visiting fellows. We offer a wide variety of programmes and courses, ranging from solid core disciplines (which embody the more traditional fields of study) to bolder regional and multidisciplinary programmes which cross departmental boundaries to explore the growing importance of Malaysia in the world.

FACULTY OF BUSINESS AND ACCOUNTANCY

Faculty-of-Business-and-Accountancy-
The Faculty of Business and Accountancy at the University of Malaya is a centre of excellence for business education and research in the South East Asia region. We have developed an outstanding reputation, locally and internationally, for the quality of our teaching and research.
Currently, Faculty of Business and Accountancy offer undergraduate and postgraduate programs, i.e., Bachelor of Accounting (BAcc), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Management (MM) and PhD programmes. These programs attract the most able students from around Malaysia and overseas. We also have a high percentage of foreign students which for the year 2009 stands at 17%. We currently have one of the most active PhD programs in the country.

FACULTY OF COMPUTER SCIENCE & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

The Bachelor of Information Technology programme started in the 1996/97 academic session, with an initial intake of 50 students. In 1997, the Faculty established four Departments, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Information and Library Science, and Computer Systems and Technology.
To accommodate an increased student population, an additional building was built in 1997-98 which was officially opened by Dato’ Dr. Fong Chan Onn, Deputy Minister of Education on 21st September 1998.
The Master of Computer Science (M.Comp.Sc.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programmes were two higher degree research programmes approved by the Senate and had been administered by the Computer Centre since 1985. In addition, the Computer Centre offered a 4-year Bachelor of Computer Science programme. The first undergraduate enrollment for 1990/91 session was 50 students.
Since its establishment, the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology has been led by a number of distinguished persons.

FACULTY OF DENTISTRY

Faculty-of-Dentistry-
The Faculty of Dentistry of UM, the first and most established dental school in Malaysia. The Faculty of Dentistry was set up in 1971 with the pioneering role of training dentists to fulfil the need of the country, which it later expands to train dental specialists with world class recognition.

FACULTY OF ECONOMICS & ADMINISTRATION

The Faculty of Economics and Administration (FEA) was founded in May 1966 to meet the nation’s growing demand for a professional workforce. Beginning with just 14 students and three academic personnel, headed by Royal Professor Ungku Aziz, FEA has evolved into a flourishing academic community of 1,076 students, and 58 academic staff, among them professors and lecturers with international reputation in their respective fields.

FACULTY OF MEDICINE

Faculty-of-Medicine
Through its almost 50 year history at the Lembah Pantai campus, the Faculty of Medicine of  the University of Malaya has produced thousands of medical, pharmacy, biomedical and nursing graduates who have gone on to serve the nation both in public and private service. In recent years the Faculty has been at the forefront of the postgraduate clinical training program in a wide range of medical specialities leading to a Masters in Medicine degree. Additionally it offers graduate programs leading to an MSc or PhD in various other biomedical fields including pharmacy, nursing, and molecular medicine.
