Borang Permohonan Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, The Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (University of Malaysia, Terengganu) or UMT, formerly known as Kolej Universiti Sains dan Teknologi Malaysia (University College of Science and Technology Malaysia) or KUSTEM, is a university in Kuala Nerus District, Terengganu, Malaysia. It was officially chartered on 1 February 2007.
 

Application Procedure

A complete application should consist of:
  • A complete, signed application form;
  • Certified copy of Identification Card / International Passport;
  • Certified copy of degree certificate;
  • Certified copy of transcript;
  • A report of project proposal (for Research structure only);
  • Report of an academic referee (must be sealed);
  • Documentary evidence of the applicant’s ability to cover all related expenses during programme period such as bank guarantee or sponsorship letter for an amount of MYR30,000 (Master) or MYR48,000 (PhD) – international applicant only;
  • Non-refundable application fee of RM25 (local application) or USD25 (international application) which should be in a bank draft/postal order/money order form, payable to BENDAHARI UNIVERSITI MALAYSIA TERENGGANU;

Admission Requirement
Master’s Programmes
1. Bachelor’s degree in related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent from UMT or any other higher institution recognized by the Senate; or
2. Bachelor’s degree in related field with a CGPA below 2.75 or equivalent qualification and possesses evidence of relevant and adequate research or work experience recognized by the Senate; or
3. Any other academic qualification in related field and possesses evidence of adequate research or work experience recognized by the Senate.
Doctor of Philosophy Programme
1. Master’s degree from UMT or any other higher institution recognized by the Senate; or
2. Any other qualification equivalent to a Master’s degree and possesses evidence of adequate research or work experience recognized by the Senate; or
3. Outstanding Master student from UMT who has been approved for conversion; or
4. First Class bachelor’s degree or equivalent from UMT or any higher institution recognized by the Senate.

• All applications received will be processed and successful applicants will be notified without delay.
• Application will only be processed on receipt of full documentation containing:
a detailed research proposal for applications of programmes by research
recommendations by two (2) academic referees ( sealed) for students with degrees other than that conferred by UMT
other relevant documents e.g. Curriculum Vitae, Supporting Letter(s) and Professional Certificates (if any)
